As part of the New Deal of the Mind curated HistoryShop project, TIME/IMAGE are taking up a residency at the Meanwhile Space in Exmouth Market in London next week, from Wednesday 3rd – Friday 12th August. We will be there alongside StoryVault and Jeli Sound Archive, who will be collecting your stories and memories.
As well as screening digitised films from the British Council film collection, we will also be offering the public the chance to stop by and re-edit archive footage to create your own creative mash-up.
Let’s Make History Together
But rather than just watching, editing & recording your own history, TIME/IMAGE wants you to make your own. Or rather, we want to collaborate together in creating a new documentary about life in London today – London 2011.
It goes like this: we want you to film something about your daily life, using whatever can; a camera, flip device or smartphone. It could be about anything – a daily routine, something about your home or maybe just a random event you happen upon. Film it, about 30-60 seconds, deliver the footage to us & we’ll edit it together, to be premiered at the space on Friday 12th at 6pm. Simple.
You can deliver the film to us either in person at the shop, perhaps on a USB stick or disc, or via online transfer using such sites as YouSendIt or WeTransfer. We don’t mind what format, screen resolution doesn’t matter either (although we’d prefer as high a quality as possible!) You can use info@timeimage.org.uk to send it to (please don’t send files in an email attachment – it might take a long time to send).
And if you want further information, tips or maybe some inspiration about what to go out and capture, we’ll be hosting a workshop in the shop on Saturday 6th at 1pm. If you can’t make that, then either drop us an email or drop into the shop and we’ll be glad to talk to you!
Come along, and make history by making history!
